Front Desk Team

Monica D. – Receptionist

Monica is the newest member of our team here at Prairie Street Family Dentistry. She replaces Margo at the front desk who recently retired after 14 years with us.

Monica is fluent in Spanish and is eager to help interpret for our Spanish speaking patients and help them understand the importance of proper dental care. She has over 7 years’ experience working in a medical office as a translator and performing office duties. Monica is currently converting our patient forms into Spanish.

Monica and her husband live in Elkhart with their two children, Tahtiana and Elija.

Jane S. – Receptionist

Jane has been a part of our dental team for thirty-four years; in fact, she first worked for Dr Tod Lovan’s father, Dr. Norris Lovan. Jane is now greeting 2nd and 3rd generations of families as they come to our dental office. She also assists patients with treatment payments including dental insurance and other financial arrangements. Our patients appreciate the time Jane takes when they have issues with their insurance company.

Besides her on the job training, Jane has also taken numerous seminars over the years.
Jane has a married daughter and one granddaughter living in Elkhart.






Sheryl L. – Assistant/ Front Desk Receptionist

Sheryl, who is Dr. Lovan’s wife, has been part of the practice for twenty-four years. Besides helping out at the front desk, Sheryl fills in for staff when they are out ill or on vacation. She is also in charge of ordering supplies for the dental office.

Sheryl attended Olivet Nazarene University, has taken secretarial courses at Ivy Tech and medical terminology courses at the area Career Center.

Sheryl loves getting the opportunity to visit with and get to know our patients, especially the children. She values the long-term relationships she is able to build with our patients.
Sheryl and Dr. Lovan have two children, Ryan and Leah. Sheryl enjoys the opportunity to travel to 3rd world countries on mission trips to provide dental care to those who live in remote villages and do not have access to medical/dental care.

Hygiene Team

Ronda Y. – Licensed Dental Hygienist

Ronda received her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Indiana University South Bend and has been with our practice for nineteen years. She provides our patients with routine cleanings and oral health education, performs x-rays and orders supplies for the hygiene department.

Ronda began her career in the dental field early, taking dental assisting courses her senior year of high school. She then worked as a dental assistant while attending college and hygiene school. Ronda is a Past President of the Elkhart/ Goshen Dental Hygiene Association.

Ronda enjoys getting to know all of her patients, and sees them as part of her extended family. Our patients love her gentle but thorough touch, and the fact that she truly cares about them and their oral health.

Ronda and her husband have a son and daughter, Roman and Jori.

Brenda W. – Licensed Dental Hygienist

Brenda has been with our practice for eighteen years since graduating from Indiana University at South Bend with her Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene. She provides routine cleanings and oral health education, sends out reminder recare cards for patient’s upcoming appointment and helps out wherever needed in the practice.

Brenda enjoys the time she gets to spend with patients, and they enjoy her upbeat attitude and warm personality. She also enjoys learning about new and updated dental procedures that help our patients achieve better oral health.

Brenda lives in Elkhart with her husband and their two sons, Camryn and Mitchell.

Dental Assistant Team

Lisa G. – Certified Dental Assistant

Lisa joined our practice 14 years ago after completing her Certification for Dental Assisting. She assists Dr. Lovan with dental procedures, places restorations, makes temporary crowns, takes impressions, performs x-rays and completes in-office whitening. Her most important job is to help our patients be as comfortable and relaxed as possible during treatment.

Our patients appreciate how relaxed, comfortable and enjoyable Lisa makes their dental experience. Lisa loves getting to know the patients and enjoys the intricate detail of her job. She recently earned an associated degree.

Lisa and her husband live in Elkhart with their three daughters Kylie, Kadence and Alexi.
